The Wisdom In Being Stuck
Along the path of the Ascension journey you will have periods of exhilarating forward momentum where life is taking you places and you feel newness and expansion within and all around you. And there will be other times when you’ve never felt more stuck as if someone – your Higher Self in accordance with the Universe really – has pushed the pause button on your existence: you can try all you might, to push, bully, negotiate, manipulate life into budging, giving you what you want but nothing and I mean NOTHING happens.
When you hit one of those major road blocks on your awakening path you almost don’t believe it at first, you’re in denial. Your logical mind and your desperate ego try to hold on to some rational explanation. This is happening because of this and that, if I do this or that things will get better, it won’t last, there has to be a way OUT. And boy do you try! Your ingenious, controlling mind comes up with all sorts of tricks and ruses to cheat your way through this seemingly unfair and unwarranted obstacle. Still nothing happens.
Of course at this point, as your mind realizes that all the cunning in the world won’t help you and your ego kicks and screams for being denied its headstrong way, depression, a deep sense of helplessness and frustration invade your being.
But you’re not done, oh no, you haven’t said your last word yet! Now your spiritual ego kicks in and starts to run the show, beating itself up and you in the process, for not being good enough, for not having reached high enough to manifest whatever you want, for not making the cut amongst the uppermost echelons of light-workers who surely do not feel any of this nonsense anymore! I was doing so well and look at me now, I’m regressing back into lower energies, I’m wallowing in yucky vibrations! I have to accept more, surrender better, reconnect with my guides and meditate for hours to atone for this disastrous fall from grace. And you do…but still… nothing happens.
And back again into a cycle of self-criticism and judgment, frustration bubbling up until it reaches boiling point and you weep and rage and so on…you catch my drift.
Until one fine day, exhausted and beaten, you finally give up, you actually really surrender to WHAT IS and sweet acceptance replaces all the tossing and turning of the vicious circles of resistance. I’ll just take a moment to talk about resistance here – it gets a really bad rep among awakening beings. True… I called it vicious because it is, however this does not mean it isn’t necessary. Like the ebb and flow of tides. Resistance is one of the main tools of consciousness. It gives you a reference point and something to adhere to for a while. And believe you me that is quite precious when you’re tumbling endlessly in the spiral of evolution, not knowing whether you’re coming or going. Think of it as resistance training in a work-out; the more you exert resistance the more you build up muscle… see?
So …nothing happens, nothing has changed externally, however within, everything has changed. You are now in what is commonly referred to as the Void, I prefer to call it the field of Infinite potential.
Your reality has been stripped of all distractions, all external stimuli, all previous endeavors and identifications, all attachments you didn’t even know existed. Through this sometimes unbearable cycle of being stuck, layers upon layers of conditioning have fallen away, transmuted into light so that you can get to the core of the truth of who you are: which is All that is.
You sense recognize or acknowledge your true Divine Nature which is simply evolving into embodying more of what already IS. As the great Matt Kahn puts it you “Come as you are” and the rest will fall into place. You just needed to understand then surrender to the fact that you are a co-creator and the “CO” here is often overlooked or taken for granted. It means you don’t create unconsciously from fear and ego anymore, you create in alignment with the Divine Plan, Guidance and Timing and when you start accepting this, deeply knowing it is for the greatest good of yourself and all, that’s when the real adventure begins.
